International Bank based in London are urgently seeking a Senior Credit Strategy and Risk Manager to join their busy project team on a permanent basis, with the role paying up to £70,000 - £80,000.

Responsibilities of the Senior Credit Strategy and Risk Manager will include but not limited to: 

  • Drive insight into credit performance and the optimisation of credit strategies, through data analytics and modelling. 
  • Manage senior stakeholder relationships across commercial stakeholders (e.g., product, channel), functional stakeholders (e.g., operations, finance, and marketing) and CRO (e.g., decision science, impairment forecasting, change, fraud, manual underwriting, group risk, etc.). 
  • Accountable for the management of credit risk strategies, standards and procedures, with responsibility for driving profitability and increasing the portfolio within the defined risk appetite. 
  • Lead a Credit Strategy Analyst(s) as respects day to day activities of risk analysis, offering strategic thought leadership, analytical direction and execution/operation oversight as well as control activities related to credit risk.
  • May be likely to represent the business at industry forums and face off against commercial partners such as Experian, Call Credit etc. 

Have you got the essential requirements below?

  • Good degree 2:1 or higher or equivalent work-experience
  • Substantial experience in risk management, banking, financial services, analytics or related industry
  • Experience in implementing large strategy change programmes
  • Detailed understanding of underwriting and credit risk management techniques, including risk/reward principles, application of scoring models, provisioning methodologies and risk governance procedures.
  • Ability in performing data analysis utilising a standard statistical package such as SAS (preferred). Exceptional Excel skills and solid PowerPoint capabilities.
  • A strong command of risk tools/metrics (i.e. RORWA, ROA, NPV, etc.) 
  • Practical experience of using analytics to solve complex business problems. 
  • Credit strategy involvement through all stages of credit risk and product lifecycle.
