Credit Review Analyst

City of London

Contract for 9 months

£508 per day

 

cer Financial are working alongside an exciting diverse international bank who are based in the City of London. They are seeking a Credit Review Analyst to work with them on a contract.

 

The responsibilities of a Credit Review Analyst will include:

 

  • Analyse Origination team  credit applications in a structured manner for clear identification and articulation of risk issues and how these may be mitigated.
  • Articulate credit department risk perception and appetite for a transaction in line with bank policy and procedures, manage the interaction and communication with front office deal teams.
  • Provide appropriate challenge to Front Office on risk issues of a client / transaction, working as a trusted partner with Front Office deal teams to ensure delivery to clients whilst maintaining high credit quality.
  • Collaborate with other risk and compliance functions where appropriate to ensure enterprise wide view of risk is considered.
  • Assist in the management of a c.US$80bn portfolio of Corporate credit exposure in EMEA with primary responsibility for credit management of all customers within specified industry sectors. EMEA corporate credit portfolio comprises both IG and sub IG borrowers.
  • Assessment of new transactions; corporate team overall reviews and decisions on c.1,500 deals pa and c.3,000 applications pa.
  • Ensure obligor grade ratings are accurate and reflect a current forward-looking view of the obligors in the assigned portfolio.
  • Involvement in under-performing/ deteriorating credit situations through continuous monitoring.
  • Within assigned portfolio, review self-assessment submissions and credit cost provisioning for Special Credits.

 

The successful Credit Review Analyst will have:

 

  • Degree level education and / or relevant professional qualifications (eg: ACA, ACCA, ACT, CFA).
  • Some experience in a credit management role (1st or 2nd line) with credit analysis skills to be able to undertake corporate credit assessment in a structured manner enabling clear identification and articulation of risk issues and how these are mitigated and knowledge of corporate loan products, trade finance products and derivative products, including familiarity with documentation.
