Sustainability Project Manager

Location – London

£600 per day

2/3 days in office

Contract end 13th May 2025

 

Description:

Experienced Project Manager that is passionate about Sustainability & climate change issues and would like to make an impact using their project management expertise.

cer Financial client aims to be recognised as a Leading Provider of Green and Sustainable Finance Solutions.

Within each project the (PM) plays a primary leadership role and will manage all workstream leads typically VP-ED.

The purpose of this role:

  • Provide Project Management SME for ESG Regulatory Disclosure Project
  • Driving & Delivering change benefits to required quality standards.
  • Ensures all projects have the correct governance, transparency and oversight – providing rationale, progression is documented.
  • Focus on environmental and social sustainability by both customers and competitors, new regulations, and international efforts to avoid the worst effects of climate change.
  • Focus on decarbonisation through the company’s aim to achieve Net Zero in their financed emissions by 2050, directing capital toward social infrastructure, and enhancing our support for diversity and human rights.
  • Support our customers on sustainability projects.
  • Embed Sustainability Management across Culture and all aspects of the business.
  • Implementation of the Sustainability strategy – leading workstreams, collaborating with experts etc
  • Operate across EMEA office regarding differing requirements.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing all project lifecycle activities associated with delivering complex projects medium-term in length.
  • Accountable for managing the project lifecycle and budget.
  • Plan and drive completion of all project artefacts including the business case, regulatory requirements, project roadmap, budget, testing, deliverables.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge and experience of financial services, markets and banking activities and the surrounding regulatory framework.
  • Must be educated to degree level or have significant specialist knowledge and
    Industry recognised modern project management qualification such as PMP or APM preferred.
  • Experience of successfully delivering projects within financial services.
  • Effective team building and some experience of team management skills.
  • Ability to work to multiple deadlines and under pressure.

  • This role is required to motivate individuals from within an organisation that is highly focussed on business as usual.
  • Gaining project resources is frequently a challenge and often requires tenacity and creative problem solving.
