Responsibilities of the Credit Analyst will include but not limited to:
- Supporting team members when less busy by readily taking work, particularly in times of strong work flow and absences, in order to donate to the optimal performance of the team.
- Using a structured and systemic approach to determine each transaction with its key risks and mitigations clearly identified, presented in a succinct and accurate paper supported by a well-articulated recommendation.
- Managing the credit process in a timely manner from start to finish including interaction and communication with relevant stakeholders and challenging the front office if required.
- Overseeing a portfolio of mainly Project Finance assets, Problem Credits, including undertaking ad hoc reporting / assignments at short notice.
- Attending meetings with marketing officers, articulating credit department’s risk perception and appetite on a transaction / counterparty that is consistent with our credit strategy.
- Working collaboratively with other risk disciplines of the Bank where suitable (eg, research, market risk, operational risk) to confirm business-wide view of risk is considered for a counterparty, asset class, portfolio etc.
- Updating and preserving various internal risk analytical tools and systems to ensure data accuracy.
- Co-operation with relevant departments including Tokyo Head Office
Have you got the essential requirements below?
- A detailed understanding of the fundamental credit principles, financial statements and key documentation terms.
- A degree holder and/or other acceptable professional qualification(s).
- Experience of Project Finance / Structured Finance preferred, mainly in a credit-related role in a major banking environment.
- High level of IT literacy, particularly in Windows Excel.
- Ready to participate in ad hoc assignments and having an open mind and attitude for problem-solving and change.
- Proven experience in using credit risk metrics and various market indicators in evaluating counterparty and sovereign risk.
- Decent knowledge of cash flow analysis.
- Demonstrated written ability to formulate a succinct and well-argued credit analysis.
