Purpose of the Role:
Working closely with the Head of IT, this role requires an experienced a hands-on, experienced Manager to support the IT Department for an initial 6 month period: The right person must have banking platform IT experience.
Assisting with the day to day operations of the IT function including close collaboration and support for the ongoing core banking transformation project, combined with oversight for the small IT team (IT security officer / application support officer / first line support officer) based in Central London.
The role holder must possess technical expertise, leadership and excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Areas to be covered and knowledge for this position includes but not limited to: network infrastructure (VMware / VXrail), delivery of IT support services to staff, data integrity, network security, supporting the Banks’ core banking system, applications, network and systems infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist the Head of IT with management, development and support of the IT Team.
· Assist the Head of IT with day-to-day responsibilities, including (but not limited to) network management and administration, infrastructure and technical environment, cybersecurity, telecommunications, server administration, DR and business continuity, core banking platform.
· Assist oversight for the IT team to manage ongoing Project / RFCs, following up with stakeholders, systems owners, and end-users to ensure business, financial, operational and system requirements are being met.
· Support Head of IT and IT Security Officer in managing and responding to alerts from external MDR system.
· Engage with Group IT team and international support as required (SLA in place).
· Sign off for all IT related POs and other documentation, with the Head of IT approval.
· Assist with the management of all IT software licenses and support maintenance.
· Co-ordinate with auditors - external and internal upon any requests.
· Be involved in training and development: coaching and mentoring of team.
Skills, Attributes & Credentials:
· Min. 5 years of relevant experience as an IT Manager, ideally in an interim or contract capacity.
· Strong technical background in IT infrastructure, network management, cybersecurity, cloud services.
· Project management experience, with the ability to assist/oversee IT implementations, migrations and upgrades.
· Excellent leadership skills with the ability to build professional relationships swiftly and support a small team.
· Experience with the banking industry.
· Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field
