cer Financial are working alongside an international bank who are based in the City of London. They are seeking a Compliance Officer to work with the on a contract.
The responsibilities of the Compliance Assurance Officer will include:
- Provide guidance in the UK Data Protection Regulations and related requirements, the PRA/FCA Outsourcing and third-party risk management and the Senior Managers and Certification Regime.
- To maintain and undertake the initial review of the branch policy & procedure document on the UK GDPR.
- Review the internal branch framework on compliance with the UK Data Protection.
- Regulation and provide advice to the branch staff on requirements for compliance with the regulations.
- To maintain and undertake the initial review of the branch policy & procedure document on the data protection matters.
- Review the internal branch framework on compliance with the PRA/FCA Outsourcing and third-party risk management and provide advice to the branch staff on requirements for compliance with the regulatory requirements.
- Review the internal branch framework on compliance with the Senior Managers and Certification Regime and provide advice to the branch staff on requirements for compliance with the regulatory requirements.
- Assist the business units with their implementation plans for internal policy and procedure changes resulting from legal or regulatory change affecting the Branch and monitor their performance against these plans.
- Undertake and support other compliance staff in carrying out monitoring programmes and report results of testing and details of any other significant compliance issues which emerge.
- Support the Compliance department’s maintenance of an annual monitoring programme for the different aspects of the Branch’s compliance and conduct risk management controls, on a basis that is appropriately focussed and commensurate to the associated risks; to provide the Branch with assurance as to the operational effectiveness of these controls in a manner that is proportionate to the nature, scale, and complexity of the operations of the Branch.
- Assist and support monitoring activities relating to the following: Conduct Risk, Depositor Protection/Single Customer View, Operational Resilience, Treating Customers Fairly and other regulatory risks as directed by the Head of Compliance.
- Prepare Compliance reports on assigned tasks and support the department in the preparation of reports for the branch senior management.
- Take on the Secretary to the Compliance and Regulatory Risk Committee if needed
- and any such other appointments that the Branch might reasonably require or need to have in place at this level of experience from time to time.
- Provide advice to staff or Branch senior management, on relevant aspects of compliance with UK law and regulation.
- Maintain technical and soft skills to the level necessary to effectively discharge the obligations and responsibilities of the Compliance Assurance Officer.
The successful Compliance Assurance Officer will have:
- At least 5 years’ experience (or equivalent) in a regulatory compliance role in a small or medium sized Bank that includes:
- General Compliance activities in Data Protection matters and in the PRA/FCA Outsourcing and third-party risk management
- Understanding of risk management framework
- Experience of presenting at meetings in both a written and verbal format
- Experience of leading or providing support in project related work
- A reasonably good knowledge of regulation and the ability to work with the Head of Compliance to review/put in place proportionate and appropriate systems and controls for the Bank.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office tools, including the ability to produce written reports
- Knowledge of the PRA/FCA Senior Managers and Certification Regime.
- Knowledge of any of, FCA Conduct Rules, PRA Depositor Protection rules, PRA/FCA requirements on Operational Resilience.
