cer Financial are working alongside a securities to firm who are based in the City of London. They are seeking a Global Macro Trader to work with them on a permanent basis.
The responsibilities of the Global Macro Trader will include:
- Execute and manage global macro trading strategies across rates, FX, equities, Futures, Bonds and derivatives etc.
- Identify macroeconomic themes and translate them into actionable trading ideas.
- Actively manage risk, including position sizing, stop-loss frameworks, and stress testing.
- Monitor global economic data, central bank policy, geopolitical developments, and market flows.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including sales, structuring, risk, compliance, and operations.
- Coordinate with global trading desks, particularly in Japan, to align strategy and market views.
- Ensure all trading activity complies with FCA regulations, internal risk limits, and governance frameworks.
- Contribute to P&L generation while maintaining strong drawdown and volatility control.
- Prepare trade rationales, performance reviews, and risk commentary for senior management.
The successful Global Macro Trader will have:
- Experience managing your own book with a track record of circa. £5 million / annum
- Proven experience as a Global Macro Trader at a bank, securities firm, hedge fund, or proprietary trading environment.
- Demonstrated track record of risk-adjusted returns.
- Strong understanding of macroeconomic drivers and their impact on global financial markets.
- Deep knowledge of at least two major asset classes (e.g. rates & FX, equities & derivatives).
- Familiarity with electronic trading platforms and market analytics tools.
- Experience trading within an FCA-regulated environment.
