cer Financial are working alongside an insurance company who are based in the City of London. They are seeking a Head of Finance to work with them on a permanent basis - who has experience of the UK Insurance Market.
In this role you will report to the Chief Finance Officer. You will oversee the finance and investment functions, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting deliverables, oversees the capital structure of the company and communicate and provide deliverables to major stakeholders, whilst being responsible for at least 7- 8 team members
The Responsibilities of a Head of Finance Will Include:
· Develop and deliver short- and long-term goals of the department.
· Responsible for finance stewardship and member of various committees.
· Responsible for all accounting, finance operation, finance reporting, external audit, tax, treasury & investment aspects of the company.
· Lead all the key finance & investment change projects, including IFRS and Solvency II.
· Design and implement all policies and frameworks around finance controls, reporting and investment functions, from front to middle and back office, in adherence to both regulatory and group requirements.
· Key interface in all banking relationships for corporate banking, treasury & investment needs.
· Actively participate in the key initiatives of the company and provide finance & investment inputs to support decision making.
· Work with various departments to actively resolve emerging issues.
· Keep abreast of developments in accounting, regulatory & group requirements, plan accordingly and prepare the department to be change ready.
· Develop and maintain a well-structured finance & investment department to support the business and comply with all statutory, regulatory, group and company requirements.
· Train, guide and develop team members.
The Successful Head of Finance Will Have:
· c10 years working in insurance industry or financial institutions.
· Certified accountants or equivalent (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
· Strong experience in financial control within the Insurance industry
· Familiar with COSO framework.
· In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and Solvency II framework for insurance and insurance regulations in the UK, and solid knowledge in budgeting and investment and treasury.
· Good working knowledge of tax system in the UK.
· Excellent planning, organisation and change management skills.
· Degree in Accountancy, Finance or Business.
· Finance and auditing background, preferably with financial planning & analysis experience.
