Senior Enterprise Architect - Cloud

cer Financial are working alongside an international bank who are based in the City of London. They are seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to work with them on a contract who will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure across Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and our hybrid multi cloud environment.
The responsibilities of a Senior Enterprise Architect will include:
- Lead and influence the delivery of cross-cutting capabilities that enable change
- Consult and support collaboration across IT departments
- Take a strategic view across all architectural domains, portfolios and programmes
- Establish/enhance architectural principles, policies and standards
- Collaborate and consult with stakeholders to assure business, technology and data decisions are aligned with enterprise architecture strategy
- Identify emerging trends and their potential impact and opportunity for the bank
- Design and architect cloud solutions leveraging Azure, GCP and hybrid multi cloud models to meet business and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain cloud architecture frameworks, standards and best practices
- Recommend options for optimising cloud infrastructure for performance, security and cost efficiency
- Architecture designs to include cloud security controls and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed for cloud-native environments
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other architects and cloud engineers on cloud technologies
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues
- Evaluate and recommend cloud-based solutions and services
- Document cloud architectures and configurations
The successful Senior Enterprise Architect will have:
- Proven experience (typically 5-10 years) as an Enterprise Cloud Architect with hands on experience in Azure and GCP
- Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
- Expertise in designing and implementing hybrid multi cloud solutions including appropriate Identity and Access Management options
- Experience of TOGAF and Zachman methodologies
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform, ARM/Bicep, etc.)
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards (e.g. ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR)
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and technologies
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g. Azure Solutions Expert, Google Cloud Professional Architect) are a definite plus
- Knowledge of ECB/DORA standards applicable to financial institutions.
