As the Senior Audit Manager, you will play a critical role in conducting independent, risk-based audits.
This role offers you the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, small banking environment, delivering significant impact on the governance, risk, and control framework.
The incumbent will be expected to lead complete audit processes, providing assurance on the adequacy of control environment and processes across key areas. You will gain an understanding and evaluate the risk profile of auditable entities, identifying control deficiencies, communicating findings effectively, and ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with management and the Audit Committee.
The incumbent will need to demonstrate experience in leading audits independently, producing high-quality reports, and resolving complex issues.
Responsibilities:
Audit Planning and Execution:
- Working closely with Head of IA to develop and execute the Annual Audit Plan, ensuring regulatory compliance requirements and the Bank's risk profile.
- Lead risk-based audits across the bank, across financial and regulatory reporting, treasury, credit, regulatory compliance and financial crime,
Independent and Professional Delivery:
- Executing audit methodologies, engaging with stakeholders, agreeing on findings, and delivering quality audit reports and workpapers with minimal oversight.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Actively communicate and build relationships with senior management to provide assurance on control effectiveness.
Control Evaluation and Risk Mitigation:
- Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, identify gaps, and assess compliance with UK regulatory standards and the Bank’s policies.
Skills and Experience required:
Technical Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of credit and treasury management, and regulatory requirements, including ILAAP and ICAAP.
Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as CIA, ACA, ACCA, or CISA required.
- Minimum 6-8 years of audit experience within the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of UK regulatory expectations (PRA/FCA).
