cer Financial are working alongside alongside a retail bank, who are based in Kent. They are seeking a Senior Compliance Manager to work with them on a permanent basis.
The responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a key contact for regulators and law enforcement agencies under delegated authority, coordinating information requests and supporting the preparation and submission of regulatory reports.
- Monitoring regulatory developments, assessing their impact on the Bank and supporting the implementation of regulatory changes.
- Providing practical compliance advice and guidance to business areas on regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures and business initiatives.
- Supporting the development and continuous improvement of the Bank's compliance strategy, ensuring emerging regulatory and conduct risks are effectively identified and managed.
- Delivering a risk-based compliance monitoring programme, identifying areas for improvement, agreeing remedial actions with stakeholders and promoting fair customer outcomes.
- Supporting the delivery and monitoring of mandatory compliance and regulatory training across the organisation.
- Assisting with regulatory engagement, including information requests, inspections, supervisory visits and the tracking of resulting actions.
- Reviewing and approving financial promotions where delegated, ensuring communications remain compliant with regulatory requirements and recommending changes where necessary.
- Supporting the Product Risk Framework by facilitating product reviews, assessing customer outcomes, operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
- Maintaining compliance policies, procedures and records, ensuring documentation remains accurate, up to date and aligned with current legislation and regulatory expectations.
- Preparing compliance management information (MI) and reports for senior management and governance committees, highlighting emerging risks, breaches, control weaknesses and monitoring the completion of agreed actions.
- Overseeing complaints monitoring, providing guidance to business areas and analysing complaint trends to identify root causes, conduct risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Supporting the Bank's compliance with the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) and Conduct Rules.
The successful candidate will need:
- Significant compliance experience within a retail financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of PRA and FCA regulations and compliance monitoring.
- Experience supporting regulatory engagement and implementing regulatory change.
- Previous experience reviewing financial promotions in a regulated environment.
- Understanding of operational risk, governance and controls within a bank.
- Experience supporting MLRO or financial crime compliance activities.
- Knowledge of risk management principles and financial crime.
- Graduate calibre, with relevant industry or professional qualifications desirable.
- Legal experience and knowledge of the third sector would be an advantage.
